Did you know that hypoacusis (DEAFNESS) affects between 1 and 3 of every 1000 newborns?

Hearing screening is carried out immediately after the birth of the newborn and its purpose is to detect as early as possible any congenital hearing impairments, which can lead to deafness if they are not found and treated in time.

The test is done by the neonatologist in the first days of life, it takes a few minutes for both ears, it is not an invasive test and for that reason it can be repeated whenever a second reading is needed.
